BioI'm a 2nd year PhD student studying org comm., specifically processes of organizing emotion. I am sad to say that I tend to save everything until the last minute so I tend to work in a constant state of stress. One exciting thing for me right now is that I am learning more about gender research and women's studies. I am really optimistic about where this can guide my research. I joined LJ because a friend suggested it. I used to write all the time and then in 2000 I stopped. I keep waiting for the tide to turn again - to find a way back into feeling like writing is natural. But, it has been a struggle. I am hoping that recording bits about my life here will will help make it more fun again.
More about me: I love where I live, but I wish it was closer to my family and friends. I like ice cream and really soft blankets to cozy up in when I have to read/grade/write. Audio chick-lit is my guilty pleasure. I like being with grad-school friends who make me laugh and who remind me that I am not alone in trying to figure out what this life is all about. I like remembering where I came from and imagining where I might go. I like feeling like life is full of possibility. Right now I seem to be trying lots of different activities and new things, which makes me feel like I am not really good at anything. But, I suppose it just means that I am interested in trying new things to figure out what it is I am really interested in.
